What is Aspire?

Sounds great

big talk about what you can grow in to -

There was a lot of reason and care there - or so it seemed -

I decided not to stay and quit after 4 days of training at $50/day and 10 phone deals at $17/phone over 3 days - the details are available but here's the point -

I asked nicely 4 weeks out and stated I would rather not go through the state as they would owe me at least $1500 extra ($50 x 30 days).....

https://www.classlawgroup.com/employment/california-labor-law/final-paycheck/

The penalty is a full-day’s wages for every day the worker has to wait, up to a maximum of 30 days.

It's been 7 weeks

I mentioned nicely to my boss at 4 weeks I have not been covered - and contacted him again today -

I tried to be nice - what should I do? You certainly should not work with aspire
California law gives employers only a short time to give employees their final paychecks after they quit or are fired. If an employer misses the deadline, the employee is entitled to a waiting time penalty of one day's pay for each day the employer is late, up to 30 days.
I mentioned this at a month - no response for 3 weeks. I mentioned it today - nothing. Don't work here - if this is how they treat people you should watch out.

I asked for $370 for 7 weeks and.....nothing -

Is this Legal?

Of course at 4 weeks after not hearing anything I did some research and found the details above but also:

https://www.employmentlawfirms.com/resources/employment/overtime-pay/getting-a-waiting-time-penalty-for-refusal-to-pay-overtime

Interesting thought - I made $50 for a day for 4 days of training - 11 hours all 4 days - $4.54 an hour despite a minimum wage of $12/hr in CA - plus sold 10 phones at $17/phone over 3 days.

oh yeah - over 8 hours and you get overtime - 1.5X for over 8 hours in a day -

4x8hours over 4 days @ $12/hr (minimum wage) = $384
4x3hours over 4 days @ $18/hr (minimum overtime) = $216

384+216/4 = $150/day at minimum wage.

It didn't work out obviously - despite all the above logic - I still just asked for $370 at 4 and 7 weeks out from quitting despite the legality of being owed at least $770 (4 days training at $150/day + 10 phone sold @ $17/phone.

Hmmmmm - do you owe me $528 (11hours*4days*$12/hr) for my 4 days, $170 (10 phones @ $17/phone), and $4500 for 30 days penalty ($150/day * 30days) = $5198?????

Anthony

Actually - Anthony above was a nice guy who seemed to really care about employees, teaching, and cultivating talent so I think this is more the institution, than him. Still - run away -
